There are 3 ways to certify (legalize) foreign documents:
1. Cancellation/absence of legalization:
based on an agreement between the countries, they can agree to recognize the documents issued without any additional formal procedure. For example, such agreements have been concluded between all CIS countries. For example, documents issued in Kazakhstan can be freely used in the Russian Federation, it only needs to be translated into Russian.
2. Apostille:
a type of simplified document legalization according to which, in order to certify a document, it is necessary to put a special "apostille" stamp on it and then the document will be recognized in any country that has signed the international treaty "Hague Convention of 1961" (see the list of countries that have signed the treaty and recognize the apostille).
The UAE does not recognize apostilled documents from any country in the world. Therefore, in order for documents issued in another country to be recognized in the UAE, it must be legalized through a consulate (consular or full legalization).
3. Consular (full) legalization:
procedures for the certification of documents through the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Consulates of the respective countries.
